Please read the next text under our photo as well, as on an average we are far over 10.000,- monthly to keep doing the important work we do here at Rancho Fino Rescue.

This are the very basic expenses added up and are over 9000,- euros.

This is just a fraction of the costs for the very basics to ‘keep the lot alive’. And this isn’t including vet visits, blood tests, dental care, vaccines, castrations, sterilisation, skincare, fly spray, hoof trims, diapers, needles, bandages, medical care supplies, etc, etc, etc. AND let’s not forget that we haven’t even covered the materials we humans need to properly care for our animals, such as: fly-masks, jackets, rugs, brushes, halters, collars, leads, wheelchairs, housing, fencing, building materials and so on and so forth.

On top of that comes our rent, all the maintenance of the land, the diesel, oil, maintenance costs to keep the tractor running. Our own cars that we constantly use for rescue and transportation purposes.
Our “furniture” and basically everything material we ever own that is constantely peed, poo’d, vomitted on, full of blood, eaten, shredded to pieces and ripped apart.

The facilities of the animals, such as: Feedingstations, housing/ shelters, drinking systems and general water supply.

Our house that needs constant cleaning, fixing, improving, keeping safe, heated in winter (think of lots of wood to keep the old and sick comfortable and healthy), etc, etc, etc.

As you see, every euro does count and is very, very much appreciated!!

Did you know…

95% of Rancho Fino Mallorca Rescue animals are special needs, and in need of specialised veterinary care. On a weekly basis we have numerous emergencies where the animals are rushed to the vet, amounting to very high vet bills.

Every month we are fighting a huge battle to make ends meet and also having to carefully select who to help and sadly which veterinary needs are more important, as we cannot afford to say yes to all of the requests we get on a constant base.

These are heartbreaking decisions that would keep anyone awake at night. For many years I, and now together with my husband Sten have worked very hard every month to cover the costs of our off-grid ranch. We work various hourly paid jobs as self employed individuals, and pour all our private income into the bills that are left to be paid, always leaving us at zero or in the negatives.

Our wish and absolute goal is to reach a consistent flow of donations in order to keep covering the costs for our animals. Reaching this goal would mean we would only need to work to cover our own living costs, and be more efficient with our time and have more time to focus on the ranch and not constantly live in survival mode.
